Dates have been arranged for LEAH's October Tutor Training Course, taking place in Kingston in October / November 2010.

The September Tutor Training course starts on 16th September.

There will be six sessions – four at Twickenham Library and two at the LEAH offices in Kingston.

LEAH is soon to run its next Tutor Development Workshop looking at Mental Health Awareness for ESOL Tutors.

This workshop is being led by Josephine Gikuyu, Community Development Worker - BME Mental Health Promotion, RBK and NHS Kingston.

Tutors will have the chance to learn more about mental health issues common amongst people with ESOL needs, how to identify mental health problems and how to support their students with their mental health needs. They will also have the chance to learn about services provided in the local area.

The workshop is taking place on Tuesday 7th September between 10:00 and 12:00 in the LEAH office. For more information, please contact Rhiannon, our Health Education Coordinator.

Students and their children have been invited to join LEAH on a trip to Kingston Museum on Tuesday 31st August.

Students will have the chance to explore the museum and learn more about the local area and its history.

The trip will be followed by a picnic on Fairfield Recreation Ground.
