LEAH's Fundraising Dinner took place on Friday 27 April
Fun, friendship and fundraising
Volunteer tutors, their families and friends enjoyed an evening of Lebanese food, live entertainment, games, and good company on Friday 27 April at LEAH’s Annual Fundraising Dinner held this year in Kew.
Mixologist Louise Gibson (aka Head of Programmes at LEAH) created a fantastic pomegranate-flavoured welcome drink and LEAH Trustee Madeleine Maguire put guests through their paces with a challenging after-dinner quiz.
Organiser and Trustee Alison Musgrave said: “It was terrific fun and I want to thank everyone who helped make it a great night out, including our musicians led by my friend Alison Rowley, Georges Kai of the Palmyra restaurant here in Kew, not to mention the many wonderful raffle prizes donated by local businesses.”
Just over £3,000 was raised for LEAH’s tutor training programme and community classes.
Director Kate Brown said: “We held the dinner in Richmond this year to bring attention to our new literacy class in Barnes. During the last year, we’ve supported over 80 learners across the borough. A huge thank you goes to all our amazing tutors who made it possible.”
