Kate said she thoroughly enjoyed the walk, despite the cold
Kate's walk for LEAH
On 29 April Director Kate Brown took part in the Charity Walk for Peace (CharityWalkForPeace.org) to raise money for the Freda Lambert Memorial Fund, LEAH’s fund for training volunteer tutors.
“I was really proud to walk for LEAH alongside colleagues from local charities including Love Kingston, Kingston Carers Network, Kingston Centre for Independent Living and Hestia, and from many other charities from further afield. Together, we build stronger communities, and it was great to walk in solidarity," she said.
Kate raised £500, which will be matched by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (AMEA) who run this national event, giving an overall total of £1000 raised towards LEAH’s volunteer training. Thank you to everyone who sponsored Kate.
Kate thoroughly enjoyed the walk through Windsor Great Park, and was impressed by the organisational feat of the AMEA. “It was a very cold day, and the delicious hot biryani at the end of the walk was so welcome – thank you Charity Walk for Peace!”
