Kingston Achievement Awards                          Kingston Achievement Awards

LEAH clients Sheikh Tariq and Kavitha receive their awards

Three LEAH students were recognised this year under the Kingston Adult Achievement Awards scheme.  The scheme, which is sponsored by Kingston Rotary Club, supports people who have been successful in learning in the face of problems or disadvantage.  It is intended to include achievement that does not necessarily lead to formal qualifications.

We were delighted to see three of our students – Sheikh Tariq, Inas and Kavitha  – had been recognised in this way.  The awards were presented in a short ceremony on 25 May 2018 in the Kingston Guildhall by Councillor Thay Thayalan, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and Philip Holt, the chairman of Kingston Rotary Club.

Richard Williams, chair of LEAH trustees, said:  "It was an enjoyable and rewarding evening for our students who were introduced at the ceremony by their LEAH tutor, and supported by their families."
