And we're off to the starting line!

And they're off to the starting line!

LEAH’s Dragon Boat team powered their way down the 250 metre course from Kingston Bridge to the Canbury Gardens finish line on Sunday, 22 July 2018 to raise money for our tutor training programme and community classes.

The mixed crew of volunteer trustees and tutors, their families and friends, most of them first-time dragon boaters, pulled together to secure over £3,000 in donations and sponsorship.  The best ever result achieved by a LEAH dragon boat team!

Organised by Kingston Rotary Club, this annual charity event is one of the largest of its kind in the country with 56 Dragon Boat teams competing this year.  LEAH was especially pleased to be Rotary’s recommended charity for those teams who were not raising money for their own good cause.

Director Kate Brown said:  “Congratulations Team LEAH and thank you so much for joining our Dragon Boat crew this year.  I’d also like to thank all the generous people who sponsored you at a time when there are many requests to support good causes.”

If you wish to donate, our page is still open at Localgiving LEAH Dragon Boat 2018.  Don't forget to Gift Aid!
