Head teacher of Coombe Hill Juniors Mark Clutterbuck with LEAH classLEAH has run classes at St Joseph's and Coombe Schools in Kingston to help parents who do not speak English to improve their communication with the school. Topics include Parent's evening, school attendance, the UK education system, subjects taught in school, common language used in school and how to talk to teachers and the school office.

Mark Clutterbuck, Head of Coombe Junior School pictured left said " We are delighted to support the Communicating with School class provided by LEAH.  By teaching and practising English in the classroom with specially trained volunteers, parents are encouraged to talk to teachers and other parents. These classes mean that parents now arrive at school events happier, with greater confidence and feeling valued. This has had a positive impact on the whole school community, particularly, of course, their children.”
